About Us

High speeds over a 4X4 off road terrain and through the most unlikely of circumstances, this is a true adrenaline junkie sport! Entrepreneur Dewald van Breda (driver) and an few friends took up the challenge at National level. After a successful 2008 season, the Teampotch guys have started the new year on an excellent note.  Ending off the 2008 season with a second place in the E-class and also winning the overall Rooky-of-the-year award for this sport.

2009 also saw new team members in the Northam Toyota guys, Rian, Butch, Jaco, Shaun and the whole dealership climbing on board.  This is truly a pleasure as these guys not only stand on the sideline and cheer but each and every one of them has gotten downright dirty as part of the pit-crew and services.  The rest of our outside support is provided by Lombard Tyres (Krugersdorp & Country wide), Flowjet (Potchefstroom),  Motolek (Louwtjie form Mogwase), Potch Plastic , DCOMM (for the Signage) and lastly Picture Cafe(see all the nice pictures in our gallery). Competing in a higher class, up from E to D, the challenge seem much more but we are coping.  The first two 2009 races, in Western cape (Adenco 400), and Eastern cape (Eastern  Cape 400), saw the team make 2 second place finishes!

Dewald decided to replace the 2.7liter petrol motor with the 4 cylinder diesel, the well known Toyota D4D.  Van Breda enjoys the diesel experience more as this is what he drives on a daily basis and has been doing so for many years.  The Bakkie is truly still able to compete in the E-class but moving to D gives the team so much more of a challenge.  The D-class also allows for 6cylenders and up to 3.5liter motors.  We would like to keep ahead throughout 2008, and even have a second racing vehicle for 2009. Thanks to SuperSport we have had much television coverage and expect much more in this season and in seasons to come.
